INTRODUCTION:
The Resident Manual/Policies and Procedures provides general information about Medical Staff and Hospital policies, procedures, and services that incoming house officers will find helpful, especially during the first few weeks in the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Residency in General Surgery (UIC-MGH). Most sections first describe the Medical Staff or Medical Center policies and/or the State regulations governing that topic; then give practical information, such as the hours of operation of a service and finally indicate where more detailed information can be found.
